Police charge James Ehler with stabbing his ill wife in bed at 34 Commercial Street Gloucester. He reportedly entered the room, seized a broken fish knife, and stabbed her four times. She screamed as blood stained the walls and he then walked outside.
Patrolman Henry Brown took Ehler into custody after a stabbing at Mary Coady’s home on Commercial Street left Mrs. Mary Hhier fatally wounded at Gloucester Hospital. The accused’s wife Mary Coady’s brother Charles Fanning confirms threats and a deathbed accusation by Mrs Hhier that a blood-stained knife was involved. Neighbors say jealousy and ungrounded charges driven the quarrel. the couple had recently separated from Mrs. Delia Landry’s home.
All five members appointed by ex mayor Fitz Gerald to the city planning board were confirmed by the Civil Service Commission yesterday.

Laredo, Tex. Feb 26. Clemente Vergera, Texas ranchman, was assaulted by Mexican federal soldiers on the Mexican side of the Rio Grande and imprisoned at Hidalgo Feb 12. Two days later he was hanged about three miles from the city, body left uncared for until two days ago. A conference between General Villa and American consul Marion Letcher discussed examining the body of William S Benton. Villa agreed an examining commission of two Americans and two British representatives and a medical examiner would be received.

The expedition confirmed new lands, sledged routes, and extensive oceanographic work amid perilous conditions.
Nearly 9400 employees of the Boston Elevated Railway Company will receive about 400000 on Monday at various work locations as back wages under the arbitration award announced at midnight Friday January 16 by the board representing the public the company and the Boston Carmen Union. The payout covers the difference between regular wages and the award amount for the pending wage dispute. Some workers will get as much as 140 dollars while the average will be near 30 dollars. The smallest payment will be 11 cents to recently hired staff affected by the award.
