The Highland Railway Petition Hearing Remains Open
At the Green Room last evening the sixth hearing on the Highland Railway charter was held by the Legislative Committee on Horse Railroads. S W Bates presented receipts and miles run for the Warren street route from October 1870 to October 1871. T W Clarke for petitioners showed tables of horse work on the Metropolitan and Union roads since 1864, noting a 33.8 percent rise on Metropolitan and a 14 percent drop on Union, plus statistics on the Brooklyn roads.
