Insanity Not Shown Hereditary Says Expert at Seminar

Dr E E Southard of the Psychopathic Hospital told a School for Social Workers gathering at 18 Somerset Street that insanity is not necessarily hereditary. He warned flat house districts and hilltop towns host more insanity and crimes due to crowded homes and isolation. He urged work and companionship to aid treatment and rejected the idea that criminals are always insane. He noted many personal crises are not insane, and that criminals can exist without a mental disease.

Death by self in drunken haze shocks Newfields area

In Epping New Hampshire on February 24 a Brentwood medical referee autopsied Arthur Wilmot of Seabrook, found dead on a highway in Newfields. Dr John G Knowlton concluded the man was demented from chronic alcoholism and probably took his own life. Police confirm Wilmot had acted queerly due to excess drinking. body returned to Smithtown relatives.
