Washington feb 23 declaring the transportation act a failure both in theory and effect William G McAdoo director-general of railroads during the war said carriers were drifting toward government ownership and that the act had not delivered the desired results despite taxpayer funding. The Instructive District Nursing Association reports 1920 care for 10,000 more patients than 1919 drained funds and forced a $10,000 loan. Federal court order authorized a public sale by auction of 14 barrels of bonded whiskey seized nearly a year ago.
