Indignant City Employees Honor to Granville Sharp
The piece celebrates Granville Sharp as a pioneering philanthropist and abolitionist who challenged slavery, resisted taxation without representation during the American Revolution, and influenced reformers. It contrasts Sharp’s humble origins with his enduring legacy while noting a later Knights of Labor indignation meeting denouncing Moody Merrill and supporting labor measures and a proposed eight hour day.
