Cape Cod Historians Elect Officers and Plan 250th Celebration

The Cape Cod Historical Society met in Yarmouthport on Feb 22 electing President Hon Charles F Swift and vice presidents from Dennis Barnstable Sandwich Provincetown Harwich and Hyannis. A five member committee was named to coordinate with nearby towns for the 250th incorporation anniversary in September 1889. Captain I P Howes gave a paper on homesteads and occupants on Cape Cod, and the society voted to hold the summer meeting as an excursion to Cuttyhunk where Gosnold landed in 1602.
