Big fishing fleet heads to port as holiday ends

The Preston carried 15 000 banana bunches and a mining prospect, Robert Young. The Boston ran a near 14 hour trip from Yarmouth with 81 passengers and a destitute sailor homeward bound. The Altonia from Cunard was sighted near Boston light with 256 steerage passengers aboard awaiting immigration checks. Large schooners Gardner G. Deering and Katherine D. Perry arrived from Baltimore and Norfolk respectively, loaded with coal and towed in by tugs, after being iced in.
