Edward H. Durand of 167 East Fourth Street New York City was found on the second floor of 15 Cornhill working on a door with a loaded revolver a cold chisel a screwdriver and a glass cutter. The exterior and two interior doors appeared forced. Patrolman Johnquist from Division 2 detained Durand without resistance while another man is believed to have escaped across the roof. Durand 21 a single man gave no statement.

Sticks of dynamite injure youths on Apple Island
A group of about fourteen year old East Boston boys found sticks of dynamite near a work camp on the ice between East Boston and Apple Island. Timothy Dolan and Howard Pitts were injured in a blast when a stick was struck against a wall. Dolan suffered facial injuries and a hand fracture while Pitts had facial cuts and a hand wound.
