Concert Crowd Packs Symphony Hall for Kubelik Bonci Duo

A near 3000 strong audience at Symphony Hall heard violinist Jan Kubelik and tenor Alessandro Bonci in a long concert that required encores past 6 PM. The program featured Tschaikowsky, Bach, Saint-Saens, Hubay, Dvorak, Haydn, Gluck, Cadman, Rogers and DeKoven pieces with strong praise for both artists.

Fire guts South Boston paper warehouse. horses saved

Five horses were rescued from the P. H. Graham & Co. waste paper warehouse at 12-14 Ewer Street, South Boston, after a blaze at 9 20 last night. Two alarms called firefighters who controlled the fire and prevented spread to the Johnson & Co. stable housing four horses. Patrolmen Monahan and Ridlon saved the horses. several wagons nearby were lost. A nearby one story ell of stacked paper bales burned. a similar structure on the lot had burned about 18 months earlier.

Body of James O Lind Found in Alewife Brook Ice

The body of James O Lind, four, missing since December 8 from 13 Farragut Avenue West Somerville, was found frozen in Alewife Brook behind the new Somerville athletic field. Residents RuBensstein and Simons broke the ice and recovered the body, which Mrs Lind identified by ring and watch.
