Steamer Teutonia Reaches Hoosac Dock After Violent Gales
After a 24 day voyage from Rotterdam the Dutch steamer Teutonia arrived at Hoosac Tunnel docks with 400 tons cargo including 2600 tons of pig iron. Captain de Jonge said the voyage had the worst weather of his 25 year career and the ship required five trips to avoid damage. A steering gear failure during a storm caused deck damage. Captain Steen of Progress from Newcastle reports a broken left arm from a heavy gale and minor deck damage.

Injunction Granted Against Beef Trust in Chicago Case
In Chicago on February 18 Judge Grosscup overruled the packers demurrer in the beef trust case and granted a temporary injunction. He ruled the defendants' agreements to refrain from bidding, bid up prices, and fix meat shipments as combinations in restraint of trade under the Sherman Act.
