Family Tragedy Labels Kinne Line with Multiple Deaths
GREAT BARRINGTON February 16 Mrs Vina Kinge 74 resident of Seekonville two miles west of the village was found dead in bed at 10 Sunday morning by her son who found the door fastened and gained entry through a chamber window. She was the daughter of Peter Burghardt an original town settler. A strange fatality has attended the family. Her brother drowned in four inches of water while returning from a liquor distillery four decades ago. Another brother served with the thirty seventh Massachusetts volunteers but was never heard from after a furlough return. Her son Edward a member of the twenty eighth Connecticut regiment died at Mound City Illinois while returning from the army. Her husband Thomas Kinne and her mother Mary Burghardt died suddenly in past years.
