Illness Of Prominent Port Appraiser Kitfield III

Appraiser Kitfield III of this port is seriously ill at his home in Manchester by the Sea. He served at the Custom House stores until last Saturday and then returned home. A well known Democrat, he was once general appraiser here and later collector of customs at Gloucester, appointed by President Cleveland but not confirmed by the Senate. He was recently confirmed as assistant appraiser and has served in that post for nearly a year.

Newport Rhode Island February 14 Ex Mayor Samuel R Honey Rhode Islands representative on the national Democratic committee is sued for 5000 for trespass and has bonds totaling 10009 to appear for trial. He already has 6000 bonds for trespass over rights to Commercial wharf and adjoining property. He barred a man from a main entrance and ripped off a bay window. He occupies an adjoining building with a disputed share and maintains a watchman and electric lights as the city follows the dispute.

Drowned Fishermen After Dory Capsize Near Wood End

Provincetown reports Antone Gaspe, 40, survived after a dory capsized five yards from Wood End lighthouse. Frank Oliver, 33, drowned. Gaspe, shaken, recounted the voyage from Race fishing with 400 pounds of cod and haddock. Oliver leaves a widowed mother and two young children.
