Boston owns most copper
Washington Feb 12 The report before the Senate from Secretary Wilson of the Department of Labor explains that Michigan citizens control only about 10 percent of the state's copper resources while the rest is owned by Boston and other Eastern interests. The sentiment in Michigan favors a tonnage tax on copper mining despite opposition from mining companies, with the belief that Eastern capital benefits too much from Michigan’s resources.
