Kneisel Quartet Concert Altered by Stormy Weather

Last night in Association Hall the Kneisel quartet delivered a memorable program despite a storm that kept many regulars away. Beethoven’s F minor quartet replaced Brahms sextet op 36 due to Keller’s absence, with Cesar Franck’s violin piano sonata highlighted as a standout. Kneisel and Aus der Ohe gave an exceptional performance, and Beethoven’s quartets in D major op 18 and in minor closed the program faultlessly. At the Bijou Theatre yesterday audiences enjoyed Francis J. Carney’s debut address on Ancient and Modern Rome and admired Pope Leo XIII motion pictures.
