Woman of 70 Burned in Charlestown Tenement Fire

A three story wooden tenement at Rutherford avenue and Union street Charlestown caught fire last evening. Mrs Avilla Jellison a 70 year old owner tenant was seriously burned about the head and removed to City Hospital. The blaze started in her top floor room when bed clothing caught fire from a kerosene lamp. A passerby raised the alarm and tenants were warned. Firemen quickly extinguished the blaze. Overseers of the Poor planned to remove Mrs Jellison today.
