New Haven Conn Feb 12 The extradition case of Thomas F Donahue arrested on a warrant issued by Gov Waller upon a requisition by Gov Butler of Massachusetts was heard Judge Stoddard discharged the case holding that the requisition could not be granted for the arrest of a liquor nuisance as there is no such crime in Massachusetts statutes as alleged in the warrant.
It is stated on good authority that the ice and New England Express companies closed a contract with the Cheshire railroad on Saturday last to run messengers through to Bellows Falls from Boston. The American and United States and Canada companies are now the only firms operating there.
The Long Branch Ocean Pier Company sued James Robinson and John Sullivan of Boston for 3500 dollars after the bark William J. Storrs wreck damaged the pier. The case was called today and the pier company did not respond, resulting in a nonsuit.

The defense may claim Gibbs fabricated the story, was coerced by police, or is insane. Police deny threats, citing corroboration by Ward. Hartford, Feb 12 The funeral for the late Gov Marshall Jewell is set for Wednesday with private services at 11 A M at his house. The remains will be moved by the governor's staff and the Foot Guard to Asylum Till Congregational church for public viewing until 2 30 P M when public exercises follow. Early morning and Boston Express trains reach in time. City flags are at half mast in mourning.
The American Iron and Steel association announced that U S pig iron production reached 4,623,000 tons in the year, about 500,000 tons higher than any previous annual total in the United States according to the Philadelphia report dated February 12.
