The Agincourt, sailing from Hong Kong and St Helena, says it left the Mo hican at St Helena on December 30 and carried dispatches. It says on November 3 in the Straits of Sunda it spoke the Amanda from Manila to Cork and, on the 5th at night, saw a vessel on fire, believed to be the Amanda. several other ships were nearby. It does not mention sighting the Alabama.
