The Boston school committee debated granting Frieda M. Bethmann, principal of the Thomas N. Hart kindergarten, a two month unpaid leave to teach Cleveland children at the White House. A 9 to 7 vote refused the leave, citing pay concerns and equal city service.
Collins and Ham filed a Superior Court suit against Boston to recover seven thousand dollars for work and materials on the Hart schoolhouse South Boston. The writ, served by Deputy Sheriff Seavey, is returnable in April. The action allegedly covers other work and materials not related to the boundary wall.

Fire devastated the Endicott Building at Albany and Osborn streets in Cambridge last evening. Firefighters and volunteers from Boston and Cambridge fought the blaze, which began around 9 01 pm and prompted multiple alarms. The Henry Endicott Building Company, formerly housing Somersoe Desk and later Derby Desk, occupied the site. the structure stretched along Albany Street and extended 260 feet. The fire drew thousands of spectators as the entire Cambridge fire department battled the flames.
