Jealous husband shoots wife after party at Armory Hall

Emily Bell a 25 year old colored wife was fatally shot by her husband Oliver Bell shortly after 4 AM following a negro ball at Armory Hall in the West End. A quarrel in an ante room led to five shots, three hitting the head and one the neck and chest. Mrs Bell died soon after at Massachusetts General Hospital. Bell, a 25 year old laborer, was arrested at No 8 Garden Street Arch after reporting the incident to police. The weapon was a .32 caliber Smith and Wesson.

Man Hit and Killed by Sled on East Boston Streets

A 21 year old East Boston man Charles A Gardner of 7 Havre Street was struck by a double runner sled at Princeton and East Eagle streets at 6 30 pm. He was taken to Station 7 then City Hospital and died on the operating table at 9 25 pm.

Cleveland Delegates Win by 109 Majority at Caucus

Sapamanca New York February 9 regular caucus elected Cleveland delegates by a 109 vote margin. Hill faction caucus followed with Cleveland men beating them by 102. Cleveland supporters celebrated with a jubilee last night.

William Morton Grinnell of 47 William Street New York, born February 20 1857 in New York, educated at Harvard and Columbia Law School with a bachelor of letters from France, is a lawyer and nephew of Vice President Morton. He practiced in Paris 1884 to 1886 as counsel to the American legation and served as counsel for the French government in Washington on copyright matters.
