No Conflict With Science No Conflict With Science
Professor George A. Coe of Northwestern University spoke at Boston University on the annual day of prayer for colleges. He argued there is no essential conflict between science and religion and that both advance in harmony though along different lines, with theology evolving as religious faith grapples with reality and science handles rational facts.

Dragoman Rescues Yakima In Narrow Harbor Collision
The Dragoman steamship from Calcutta rescued the Gloucester fishing schooner Yakima from sinking off the harbor. Despite westward steering, the Yakima faced imminent disaster as wind and tack forced close proximity. Crew fled forward as the Dragoman reversed, dropped anchor, and forced a near-miss, narrowly avoiding collision. The Dragoman then altered course to avert grounding, with the incident preventing a total loss and possible crew fatalities. The Dragoman had clear seas across the Atlantic until a sharp northeast storm near Boston brought freezing temperatures.
