Night watchman recovers from attack at Marginal street bakery

A fire at J F McNamee liquor store located at Cambridge street in West End caused two Engine 4 firefighters to be injured when a baluster railing collapsed throwing Captain Peter Callahan and Patrick Levey to the floor. They returned to work after quick treatment. The four story brick building filled with smoke saw flames from a closet on the first floor climbing to the third. Firemen fought for one hour forty minutes and the damage was estimated at 2500 dollars.

Fisherman recounts gale wreck of Boston schooner off Massachusetts Bay
In Lynn on February 8 a fisherman, claiming to be from a Boston fishing schooner, told of a trio of dories venturing into Massachusetts Bay to set trawls. A violent gale scattered the boats, one dory capsized near Egg Rock, another rider clung to a rope, and the craft was later found on Greystone Park at King's Beach. The other six dories were reported missing as the crew headed home to Boston.
