The 1871 Club of House members held its annual reunion and dinner at the Quincy House. About seventy five members attended. After dinner speeches were delivered by John L. Baker A W Beard John E Sanford Henry B Washburn Judge Mc Kim and others.

New York February 8 Mrs Henry P Sergeant of West Medford Mass won a 5243 verdict against the Home Benefit Association in the United States Circuit Court. She claimed her brother Edward Hall insane at death October 1886 when he had assigned a 5000 life policy to her. The association had challenged payment claiming a clause voids the policy if the holder commits suicide.
New York on February 8 the Phillips Academy Exeter alumni held their sixth annual dinner at the Hoffman House. Eulogies praised the trustees the faculty athletics and the New England Association with remarks by L B Merrill and professors Dunbar Getteridge Wentworth and Wiggin.
