Mrs. Inez Shepard testified at a hearing on her divorce from Ralph A. Shepard son of the president of Shepard & Morse. She described abuse including striking with a bottle kneeling on her shoulder forcing her face to the floor and verbal reviling including calling her a damn little devil.
Providence February 7 Mrs Elizabeth Tiffany Mohr charged with complicity in a doctor husband murder is nearly penniless. Friends say her share of the slain man's estate is small and she will get no real estate. She accepts 5000 in cash jewelry and a piano as her share. Her defense has cost heavily and five lawyers will divide the fee.
The state case argues the woman aimed to control Dr. Mohr's property by planning his murder. Quick distribution of his real and personal estate began today with senior counsel Arthur C. Cushing and Phillip S. Knauer in talks, then reporting to John J. Fitzgerald and Mrs Mohr.
Former Massachusetts governor David I. Walsh has cut his Orient trip short to confer with Senators Reed and Walsh about Louis D. Brandeis. He plans to stay in Washington for weeks to press Brandeis's Senate confirmation before resuming travel to San Francisco for a far eastern voyage.
Geraldine Farrar and Lou Teilegen, noted film actors, plan a quiet noon wedding tomorrow at Farrar's New York home. The ceremony is to take place in Sid Farrar's bedroom with no wedding party or dignitaries attending, following the bride’s father's removal from Roosevelt Hospital that morning.
While Mr Farrar remains ill he wishes to give his brilliant daughter away. The wedding will be at Miss Farrar’s New York home with Rev Leon Harvey officiating. Only immediate family and six close friends will attend. This morning Miss Farrar and her fiancé obtained a marriage license at City Hall as crowds gathered outside.
The Rev George A Lyons newly appointed pastor of Gate of Heaven Church South Boston performed his first wedding in the church. The couple were Miss Alinda Be Dempster and George W Taylor of Needham. A reception followed at the bride’s mother's home 62 H street.

Harvard Law School students are invited to submit essays on maritime or international law for a $100 prize funded by the Addison Brown bequest. Brown, class of 1902, was a former District Court judge in New York City.
