Congress discusses tribes claims and Sioux land in Indian bill
The sub committee pushes provisions to form a five member commission to negotiate with the five civilized tribes for relinquishment of Cherokee outlet claims and proposes admitting tribes to the Union with full citizenship. A three member Sioux commission would seek partial relinquishment of their Dakota reservation. The bill totals 5 419 088 dollars, 76 077 less than this year’s, with extra items for Pottowattomies Chicasas Creeks and Indian Office. Also notes Knights Templars visit and naval program amendments.
