Frederick Beach of New York testified he did not assault his wife in an Aiken county case. Mrs Beach backed his denial. Hinsdale Officials Seek Murder Suspect in Wren Case

Hinsdale officials telegraphed Boston police to arrest Wren or Ware on sight on a murder charge. Holbrook Cabot Rollins, the Boston construction firm employing Hamilton, offers a $1000 reward for his murderer or murderers. Hamilton, formerly in Rochester coal and iron, had headed 1000 men at the Hinsdale Brattleboro railroad project. his body was found near the house of William D. Adams after the workers were paid off.

Hotel Guests in Fire Scare at Webster Avenue Blaze

Two hundred guests at the Bay Staite Hotel on Hanover Street were awakened by a loft fire at 14 and 16 Webster Avenue a few doors away. Dense smoke from D Fopiano’s paint shop filled the street as Captain William Riley of Engine 4 slipped and injured his back assisting efforts. Unknown cause, damage about 300 dollars.

Beach and wife testifies under tough cross examination

The prosecutor grilled Beach and his wife at length about prior statements they made, noting differences from their current testimony. Mrs. Beach described a “gingerbread colored” man assaulting her with a slashed throat and a stick blow, claiming she feared to scream until her husband arrived. Stewart Found Dead After Accident Near Wall

Officer Cornelius Sheehan located Stewart with a severe head wound after a collision near a stone wall. Stewart’s horse returned riderless to the police stable as a search went out for the rider. He resided at 19 Heathcote Street Roslindale with a wife and seven children. a three year veteran of the Metropolitan Park force and former Boston fire department member.

Stolen Bank Roll Found Hidden in Mattress

A $1000 bank roll hidden in a mattress by Miss Minnie Rogers of 411 Shawmut Avenue led Station 5 police on a pursuit last night. A man who visited the house was suspected of stealing the money and fled, but officers later uncovered the roll in a mattress hole.
