Officer Crory Heroism Averts Three Horse Crash on Beacon Street
Yesterday afternoon about 4 o'clock on Beacon street a pair of horses owned by E. G. Kramer collided with a double driven by John F. Miller. The runaway team connected with Mrs. Tobin’s sleigh, then struck Charles Hurley’s sleigh, demolishing it. Patrolman Crory stopped the three horses with help from bystanders. Hurley’s horse was saved, Mrs Tobin's party was scratched, and Miller’s daughter and Miller were injured.

Lynching Talk Follows Mercer County Murder Case
In Princeton Missouri on February 6 a murder at Mercer involving Peter Kindred has sparked talk of lynching. Kindred, drunk and armed, shot Joe Alley in the store after being told to leave, then killed Andrew Alley with two shots. He is jailed under heavy guard as the law threatens to be bypassed. Andrew died within an hour. Joe is not expected to live. Kindred was arrested and brought to Princeton.

Cambridge and Watertown police hunted a colored man matching the Mt Auburn station robber’s description after he fled with $24 from Miss Annie McBride.
