Chelsea church runs sewing school for 200 girls

The Walnut Street Methodist Church in Chelsea offers a weekly sewing and embroidery program for about 200 foreign birth or parentage girls. Classes progress from basic needlework to cutting and fitting with emphasis on sociability and morality, taught by church volunteers. The bazaar Feb 20–22 sells colonial tables and includes a Winnissimmet trading post run by male hosts in period regalia.

Lodger severely injured after glass shatters on street

Thomas Kennedy 38 of Norwich Conn fell through a heavy window at 155 Summer Street after colliding with a gasement wall at 8 30 yesterday morning. He was found bleeding from face and neck, wrist cut and sprained, taken to City Hospital.

Scandinavian Republican Club of Ward 2 Meeting

A Saturday gathering at Odd Fellows Hall Jamaica Plain drew about fifty members of the Scandinavian Republican Club of Ward 2. President R. A. William McCarty of 79 Tremont Street was seriously injured when a bale fell on him aboard the Grecian in Mystic Art yesterday morning at 11 45. The accident broke his right thigh and caused internal injuries. He was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment.

Girl Knocked Down by Team in Brookline Accident

An 11 year old girl, possibly Lizzie Crosby of Brookline, was knocked down by a horse team owned and driven by Francis White on Perkins Street near the Parkway yesterday afternoon. She was found unconscious and transported to City Hospital with suspected skull fracture.

Playground with no grassplots to host games at Charlestown Neck

The old Mill Pond site in Charlestown Neck will be turned into a public playground by March 15 with earth filling complete and game grounds laid out.
