Mohr Murder Trial Sees Perjury Arrests After Dramatic Day

In Providence on February 2, the defense rested in the Mohr murder case as two witnesses, wife and sister of defendant Henry Spellman, were arrested for perjury. Victor Brown of Roxbury testified for the defense after police arrested the two witnesses. The accused faced intense questioning from Attorney-General Herbert A. Rice as the day ended.

Diamond thief arrested in Montreal store theft case

Louis Merrion, linked to a Christmas Eve diamond theft from Mappin & Webb on St. Catherine Street Montreal, was arrested in Roxbury after a Boston witness identified him. Detective agency head R. M. Steamer Rescues Gloucester Dorymen Off Cape Sable

Two Gloucester fishermen John Forrest and Henry Boucher were rescued from a frigid gale off Cape Sable by the steamship Innishowen Head. They, exhausted and nearly speechless, rode out the storm after their trawl lines parted from the Elsie, a Gloucester schooner. They were brought to St John New Brunswick and will sail to Boston with passage paid by the American consul. Forrest, 36, from Charlottetown P E I, and Boucher, 26, Gloucester native, endured freezing conditions and near capsizes before the rescue.
