Miner Testifies Weil Used Alias in Fund Claim Deal
The witness, a 25 year prospector, said Weil knew he received money Weil sent under an assumed name. He met Weil in 1907 at Bullfrog Nevada and located Death Valley claims near the Funeral range. Weil promised 25 000 shares and a floated company but the shares never materialized. He placed marker posts for the Smuggler group claims yet no complete title was secured. To patent the claims $100 yearly improvements for five years were needed. He reported floating ore to Weil and admitted sometimes lying, which Weil knew.
