William J. Welsh aged 80 a former Hull life guard at Nantaskey Beach and new recruit in the Canadian Kitties Overseas Regiment died in a camping accident Thursday night. His mother Mrs Margaret Welsh of Sagamore Hill Nantasket received the report yesterday.
After an eight year hunt, Mrs. George T. Standbridge of Philadelphia traced her husband to Eliot and had him arrested in Newton on a charge of desertion and abandonment following his 1909 desertion of her and their three children.
Standbridge aged man living at 34 Waldorf Road Eliot with second wife and five children is charged with a statutory offense after police say he lived with Alice Bottomly as husband and wife in Eliot and Newton Centre. He remains at Newton police station unable to post bail. Bottomly allowed to stay home with five children. Both Standbridge and Bottomly to appear in Newton District Court. Mrs Standbridge reported eight years ago desertion of herself and three infants in New York.
