A grand jury indicted Max Mitchell president of the Cosmopolitan Trust Company in four secret indictments likely all against him. Authorities say Nsarceny is alleged with about 1,500,000 involved. Mitchell admitted the indictments and arranged to answer in the Superior Court this morning.
Following the reporting of the indictments, it was expected that details would continue on page 4 in the fourth column with further developments and associated reactions from officials and defendants.
Unusual interest marks yesterday's announcement of White Star Line service from Liverpool and Queenstown to Boston resuming after a wartime pause. Ships Pittsburg and Haverford will sail twice monthly from Boston to Philadelphia and back, Pittsburg due in Boston in June as a 16 690 ton liner of 600 feet with 650 cabin and 1500 third class berths. Haverford to begin in March with regular sailings thereafter.

A 23 year old penniless Russian youth in New York will wed a 45 year old divorcee and heiress to the Norman B. Ream Chicago estate. Ream allegedly left 40 million to seven heirs including the bride, now Mrs Marion Buckingham Ream Stephens, with the Orthodox Greek Church wedding planned for next Saturday.
New York dispatch reports a temporary shift in Earth's axis as a massive undersea slip off the U S Pacific coast nudged rock to balance rotation. Seismographs show a millimeter and a half deviation with movement likely hundreds of miles offshore near the Columbia River mouth. observers note no surface upheaval or giant tides.

A Dorchester baseball captain and famed penman he served as chief clerk of the election department after years with the Boston Election Commission. Funeral plans to be announced.
Springfield report notes a January incident where college seniors mimicked snowbirds on Watershop pond in bare feet and swimsuits. The activity drew parental concern from YMCA officials amid church bells and Sunday morning expectations.
Rome January 31 AP The question now is when Cardinal O Connell will reach Rome before the conclave opens on Thursday. Arrangements are complete and his presence is highly anticipated as American representation in the papal election nears. He sails aboard the Presidente Wilson from New York with reports he may travel by destroyer for safety.
Officer Daniel J. McShane who served in the Argonne and Meuse battles died from a bullet fired by an elderly man Renzy Murray during an arrest in a South End tenement. Murray faces murder charges as McShane’s fiancée May Starrett of Warren Avenue mourns at his bedside.
Charles Pose of 24 Hollis Street South End was knifed in the neck after refusing a man 10 cents for something to eat. Police search Roxbury and East Dedham for the assailant. Pose is hospitalized at City Hospital in serious but improving condition.
Two boys were seen leaving the apartment of Mrs. Annie Richards at 9 Ruthven Street Roxbury yesterday with boxes under their arms. She reported jewelry worth 400 dollars and cash totaling 400 dollars stolen during her absence.
Sabina J Delaney a top Boston policewoman quit the force in protest against Capt Charles T Reardon orders to buy liquor as evidence in suspected cafes and hotels. She later learned she faced charges for not reporting at the licensing bureau as a witness in a liquor case.
