Fish Market Quiet as Ash Remains Sparse at T Wharf
Very little ash arrived at T wharf yesterday with the market supplied by last week’s heavy receipts. Seven fishing craft docked at the fish pier since Saturday’s close, six from shore grounds and the Teaser off shore, which returned from a three week visit to Gulleys Bank with 18,000 pounds of halibut. Captain Peter Dunski earned 12 cents a pound for gray and 14 cents for white, plus $000 pounds of hake. The seven boats carried a combined 67,700 pounds of mixed fresh fish, including 27,500 haddock, 10,590 cod, 9,000 hake, 2,500 pollock and 200 cask. Prices stayed low due to ample dealer stocks. Haddock 4¼ cents, large cod 5½ cents, markets 4 cents, hake 43½ cents, pollock 3¾ cents. Vessels and fares listed. The Washakie landed the cask. The Asiana from Fowey, England arrived at Pier 46, Mystic Wharf, Charlestown with 2,035 tons of china clay and 2,200 tons to Portland, following a 18 day voyage and three days delay. Sagamore from Liverpool with 1,800 tons freight and 18 returning cattlemen. Three lumber schooners, Esther Ann, Brina P. Pendleton and Dr. H. Rivers, arrived after rough passages carrying 2,175,981 feet of lumber and 100,900 shingles, 711,981 feet, and 750,000 feet respectively. Haakon VII., from Cuba, anchored due to berth occupancy.

Copper Market Gains Boost Prospects for Arizona Smelter
The plan envisions copper at 13 to 14 cents, increasing per ton profits by 3 to 4 cents. Over 690 days, the Arizona Commercial smelter would process 250 to 400 tons daily, boosting daily profit by 1400 to 1600 dollars. With 120,000 shares, this yields 4 to 5 dollars per share in added earnings, while a higher copper market and new levels could push monthly copper output to 1,000,000 to 1,500,000 pounds and lift earnings to 8 to 10 dollars per share for the small capital stock.
