Paris reports the Seine flood receding slowly with 15.5 inches drop since yesterday. The city faces worsening conditions as water rises in streets and Gennevilliers and Colombes see 12 feet depths. Rescue efforts by troops and civilians continue with boats delivering provisions to hundreds stranded.

Edmund A. Fowler of Brookline was thrown from his horse in Fenway yesterday morning and died at Massachusetts General Hospital after a speed driven auto ride through Back Bay and West End to reach the operating table. He was found unconscious near South Huntington Avenue and Willow Pond Road by classmate William P. Meehan who happened to be driving by.
Mr Fowler, 85, riding with Meehan, was thrown from a horse on Huntington Avenue after leaving Park Riding Stables. He suffered a fractured skull and died soon after at the hospital. Fowler, a Brookline bookkeeper, resided with his father at 26 Park Drive Terrace and is survived by Edmund B. Fowler and A. P. Fowler.
A $5000 blaze at the Dew Drop Inn at Lev erett and Causeway streets put residents in danger as two men and a woman were overwhelmed by smoke. Nellie Keefe 26 walked from the roof to a fire escape 20 feet below with bruises and possible internal injuries. Thomas Riley and 70 year old John Anderson were overcome. Fireman Connelly arrived in time to prevent suffocation.
Firefighters and residents found two men stretched on the floor of their rooms. Connelly carried both to a window and ladder men brought them to the street. Continued on Page 14-First Column.

The Beef Trust plans a two fold response to food price protests. They will curb shipments from packing centers to New York and other hubs and raise wholesale meat prices citing supply shortages. Eastern managers are instructed to brace for higher prices and light cattle receipts next week.

Captain Meader and crew arrived today aboard the City of Atlanta from Savannah Line, after being transferred Friday afternoon from the Paducah, a United States gunboat en route from New York to Key West. The Paducah took them on from the Katherine, a British freighter, which picked up the men late Thursday.

Dr E S Cowles allegedly wrote to Miss Dorothy Hesler about a photograph tied to the dispute. Dr Ansey H Robnett awaits the outcome of Auld's hearing before proceeding.

Miss Mary McLean a Back Bay maid was fatally struck by a car on South Huntington avenue Roxbury last evening. The accident left her dead almost instantly and the incident was reported by local authorities.
Miss Mclean 22 from Inverness Cape Breton was struck on the shoulder by an inbound car near St Vincent Memorial Hospital while crossing South Huntington avenue. Motorman Lang and Conductor Dion found her dead on arrival at the hospital with a skull fracture. Police determined the crash was accidental.
