Longshoremen Seek Higher Wages in Boston Bargain
A Boston conference between the Boston Longshoremen Trades Council and steamship firms offered 35 cents an hour for bulk cargoes, a 1 cent raise, while longshoremen seek 10 cents more on day work. A Sunday decision is planned after a meeting. The union had demanded 33 percent on bulk cargo and 50 percent for night work, which was rejected.
