Water Front Quiet as Few Vessels Arrive at Gloucester Pier

A quiet day at the Gloucester fish pier yielded only five arriving vessels. The Preceptor and Mooneven took most fares to Gloucester, while demand elsewhere lagged due to early week dealer supplies. Totals show 242,500 pounds of catch including haddock, cod, hake, pollock, cusk and halibut with prices noted. Several steamers and liners were expected or arrived, including L L Holmblad, Saxonia, Siberian, and the Palmer fleet facing recent losses.
