Robbery attempt and rescue at Roxbury laundry

An 18 year old woman was attacked by two Chinese men in a Roxbury laundry on Westminster Street. Patrolman Wallace intervened, subduing one suspect, Ching Fong, who is held at the station. The second man, Ching Eng, escaped through a window. Fong, aged 55 with a white wife, awaits Roxbury District Court hearings.

Public Hearing Set for Weymouth Policeman Walsh

The Weymouth selectmen plan a public hearing at Town Hall on Friday night January 9 for Police Officer John D. Walsh who has been suspended over alleged department rule violations. Earlier a fist fight with Henry Dugan of Braintree police at Ferncroft Inn led to both men being confined to their homes and suspended by their respective chiefs.

George Harrington of Malden suffered a severe sore throat after licking thousands of postage stamps during the Christmas rush. He worked in a Malden drug store where the pharmacy sold $650 worth of stamps and Harrington claims he licked about three quarters. Friends estimated he could have licked around 3000 stamps during the rush.
