Leo Damego, an Italian about 30, was shot and killed at 7:15 PM in a Chambers Street tenement near Barton. Michele Carisi of Cambridge allegedly insulted a woman, triggering a quarrel in which Damego struck him and Carisi fired, lodging a windpipe wound. Authorities searched the building, noted wine jars and recent arrivals, and linked Carisi to a footing at 136 Endicott Street. Damego carried a Hanover Street address card and a Cooper Street scrap.
