Free Coinage Or Nothing The Patchwork Bill Fails
Washington, Dee 29 The Free silver tonnage or nothing outlook dominates financial legislation talks. The patchwork silver and banking bill failed to unite Republican Senators from silver states and Eastern leaders. Stewart of Nevada and Teller of Colorado oppose any measure short of full silver mine product buys. The Senate may see a free coinage plan, but the House likely will not pass it, as Eastern Republicans tire of concessions and fear the election bill substitute may pass with a free coinage vote.
