The Journal of Finance reports the railway presidents shift the meeting to January 5 at the Windsor Hotel in New York. Fifteen roads have already assented with three more expected to join, possibly forming eighteen roads spanning Chicago to the Pacific and north to the Mexican line. The aim is a unanimous adoption and rapid enforcement of the new agreement. Sir Joseph Hickson resigns as Grand Trunk general manager, to be replaced by L. J. St Louis December 28 A legal battle over electric railway patents will begin this week as Adams Electric Railway Company plans to raise its capital to 2 million dollars and sue other street railway firms using similar systems. A Boston lawsuit is expected to back the claim with an eminent local lawyer engaged to prosecute. If successful, injunctions could reach all electric street railways in the United States.
