Storm-Tossed Schooners Reach Plymouth Harbor in Safety
Boston reports of distress signals proved unfounded after a waterfront survey. Several schooners sought shelter here during the great storm with only minor injuries, while Pilgrim wharf required repairs from undermining. The lime schooner unearthed at White Horse Beach and the three-masted Alice P Turner were among notable sights. Captain John Watson described a fierce struggle aboard the Reliance as it returned to port.
