Dr Oran George Cilley a leading Boston physician with offices at 57 Cambridge Street was arrested by a State police officer last night on charges of performing an illegal operation on Mrs Arthur L Shapleigh of Salem that caused her death Thursday morning. He denies any criminal operation was done.
Dr Cilley a longtime figure in Boston social political and medical circles says he operated on Mrs Shapleigh on December 18 after her husband sought care. He details arranging the urethral polypus operation at his Cambridge street office and performing it in Salem with ether. Bail set at 5000. source notes his connections and past roles.
In Dover New Hampshire two men robbed the Fiske and Co brick plant assistant bookkeeper Charles Goldthwaite at the Dover Point office. He was knocked unconscious and later said the attackers fled with his watch and about 25 dollars. Police suspect the fire was set to hide the crime.
Goldthwaite, 19, found lying outside the office after a blaze at the Fiske & Co brick plant on Devonshire Street Boston. Police cannot identify assailants as the victim is semi delirious. The plant, large and five acres, may have held little cash, with safety and insurance details undetermined.

Police hunted six men from 36 Blossom street West End to question for clues in the finding of Nellie Murray 17 found partially clothed in the hospital yard. Nellie Murray was identified by relatives and described as Wolf Parsons wife with baggage at North Union station and a Chambers street room reported.
