College Rules Earn Praise After Seventh annual NCAA Session
The National Collegiate Athletic Association meeting in New York praised the 1912 football rules as making the game best ever played by American colleges. Henry L. Williams cited four downs in ten yards and the removal of the onside kick as key changes improving balance between offense and defense. Delegates from nearly 90 colleges discussed amateurism, soccer, basketball, and track, with new appointments and the next meeting set for December 30, 1913.
