Five youths arraigned in Somerville burglary case
Five Somerville youths aged 17 to 22 were arraigned on charges of breaking and entering the home of Michael Fillisoh at 120 Limwood Street on Christmas Eve. The house was set on fire in three places. Doherty pleaded guilty and each defendant posted $200 bail.

Thomas Ellis was jailed in Charleston W V charged with murdering his wife on Christmas night. Authorities say a blasting powder blast in their mountain cabin near Winifred WV exploded as the wife slept, tearing the cabin apart. Ellis was hidden in a coal mine overnight to avert a lynching.
