Patrolman Joseph T. Connors of the Quincy Police died early yesterday at the Psychopathic Hospital. His heroism in August when he battled an infuriated dog in Squantum saved the lives of several children.
A 30 year old rookie police officer, just one year on duty, declines to draw his revolver due to danger of stray bullets endangering bystanders, showing calm under threat.
Senator Walsh of Massachusetts issued a circular to constituents urging state governments to commandeer and equitably distribute coal at bare production cost to avert a fuel famine amid reports of coal shortages in New England. He said action by the federal government could have prevented the shortage last summer.
Charles "Dickey" Blinn state prohibition officer was shot to death in a dark Steubenville alley in the Polish section late tonight. His body bore two wounds, one in the forehead and one in the left shoulder. Blinn led a squad of eight enforcement officers in a months long fight on bootleggers.

A man and a woman exited a taxicab and confronted William H. Cutler at 426 Ocean Avenue Revere demanding money. They fled in the taxi after failing to take anything. Suspect descriptions include a 32-year-old man in blue suit and chinchilla coat and a 48-year-old blonde woman with a fur neckpiece. Police have the taxi number.
Mrs Ellen Ianelli 22 of 2 Chelsea Street East Boston slipped on the steps of the Church of the Assumption Sumner Street East Boston yesterday forenoon and fractured her right leg. She was taken to East Boston Relief Hospital and later transferred to City Hospital.
In Worcester on December 25 a house at 5 Oak Street burned from a defective Christmas tree wiring. 10 year old David Sessions died trapped on the second floor as his father Waldon Sessions and mother Mrs. Sessions and 14 year old brother George tried to rescue him. The mother is badly burned and in critical condition, the father seriously burned, and the boy’s family home destroyed with losses over $20 000. The fire was discovered around 4 am and is believed caused by the lighting on a heavily decorated tree.
