H F Allen an attorney from Portsmouth N H visited James H Vahey at his Watertown home on December 25 and said he could help establish Tucker's innocence He claimed he could identify a Canadian pin his brother lost in Portland in 1902 and that verification could lead to a new trial for Charles L Tucker Allen has provided Tucker's lawyers with new evidence in his favor.
H F Allen says his brother wore the pin in Portland and that the Canadian gift pin matches the one Tucker is accused of stealing from the Page house. Allen will provide sworn affidavit and testimony. Tucker’s lawyers cite Mrs Tucker’s Portland pin find in 1902 and plan for new trial if rehearing denied.
Philadelphia incident reports 22 year old Joseph Pollock defending his mother during a quarrel. He struck his father William Pollock, causing a fatal head injury after the elder man tried to strike his wife Jen. Joseph was arrested and charged while the mother remains a witness.
Swampscott Chief Harris says Dr Horace Chase will be present at the resumed inquest into Mrs Jennie Chase death tomorrow though district attorney Peters declines to confirm. The case has drawn strong public interest as investigators pursue new facts and testimony.
