Brock Seen As Likely Street Superintendent Candidate
Nathan F Brock a Brighton resident MIT man about 30 seeks the street superintendent post with strong support. He has engineering work in Massachusetts sewerage and bridge dept apprenticeship plus Basin 6 water dept project. Rival talk puts Engineer Carson of the subway forward as a contender. Democratic leaders insist on a first class engineer for the job and may favor entrusting the post to proven municipal hands. Ex Senator Leary supporters expect a City Messenger caucus within days, possibly by Saturday, with open ballots likely this year to reveal how council members vote. The contest against Colonel Peters is expected to be bitter.
