William Ellery Channing Dead at Concord Home

William Ellery Channing died yesterday at a friend's home in Concord. He was the last surviving nephew of Dr. W. E. Channing and was born in Boston on November 20, 1818. Funeral likely Thursday at the First Parish Church in Concord, a site also linked to Thoreau Hawthorne and Emerson. He leaves five children including Walter Channing and Edward Perkins Channing, with a rich legacy in Concord's literary circle.
