Unity Church Retains Pastor as Funds Targeted for New Edifice

A large congregation at the Church of the Unity voted to keep Rev. Minot J. Savage as pastor. Total subscriptions reached 41,000 with 35,000 needed to begin building, plus 16,000 more hoped for from Mrs. Jones’s committee. The church lot lies on Commonwealth Avenue near Massachusetts Avenue opposite the Charlesgate.

Somerville Inquiry Hears Exoneration in City Engineer Case

The Somerville inquiry into the late city engineer Horace L Baton continued after a three hour session, mainly exonerating Baton. Ernest W. Bailey and F. B. Fatal fall in South Boston elevator accident

Matthew Fee, two, of Third and Dorchester streets, South Boston, died after someone started an elevator at 5:55 yesterday afternoon at 92 Federal street. Fee, a worker for James A. Ahern & Co., fell four stories to the basement and died en route to Emergency Hospital. The body lies in hospital for examination by Medical Examiner Draper.

London notice notes the accidental death of Sergius Stepniak, the Russian refugee aid writer, struck by a passing train while crossing a railway track in Chiswick. He was born in 1841 in Poltava. his works faced government bans. he taught in Ki ef University and lived in Geneva.

Noted Spiritualist Killed in New York Crash

Henry J. Newton, 72, of New York City, was fatally struck by a cable car at Broadway and Twenty third Street. Newton, president of a bronze powder company with offices in New York and Nyack, was a prominent Spiritualist and inventor of the Spiritualists' cage and related devices.

Rival in-house scrimmage ends with scalp wound in Roxbury
