Both the Senate and House cleared the Cambridge subway purchase, jitney, and excise tax bills urged by Governor Coolidge. The subway purchase bill was enacted and sent to the Governor for approval, with action expected today, as the Attorney General continues proceedings. Also approved was the Boston teachers' salary increase of 384 dollars.
Palmer says government actions have driven living costs under control and predicts a decline in prices between Jan 1 and Mar 1 if producers maximize output and consumers cut waste. He urges honest people to join the Justice Department in stamping out profiteering and hoarding.
The speech by Lloyd George asserts a new Home Rule bill and warns that secession attempts will meet resistance similar to the Civil War era. The measure is to be considered by two parliamentary sessions.

Mrs Marguerite A Lebaudy who killed her husband Jacques Lebaudy agrees to split his estate with his sister Countess Marie Theresa Jeanne Lebaudy De Sels of Paris. Edward De Valera denounces the British premier’s home rule bill as a ploy to fool the Irish and reaffirms demand for an independent Irish republic. Lloyd George warns Britain would fight secession as with 1861 US Civil War, proposing two parliaments with equal powers.
