Prison Term for False Financial Statement Spares no One

Sam Edward Rice aged 79, once head of Edward E. Rice & Co., left the court to serve a two year term in the House of Correction. In 1921 he was convicted of a false financial statement used to obtain about 300000 from Shawmut National Bank and the New England Company. He had been sentenced to 212 to 312 years but got a stay for a Supreme Judicial Court hearing.
